Plan to join LAJ on for its Annual Convention weekend in New Orleans.
Now with a spring date, Grand Reception, which honors members of the Louisiana judiciary and legislators, makes its comeback as the signature event of convention weekend. This great party will be a reunion of trial bar colleagues and friends from throughout Louisiana.

Thursday, March 4
Section meetings. All section meetings will take place at the Windsor Court Hotel. Attendance is limited to section members. For more information on joining an LAJ practice section, contact Tom Wright.

Insurance Law Section Meeting, 2 p.m.

Cracker Barrel Story Time
Stories about judges, jurors, lawyers, and Big Train
Russ Herman, a benefit performance for LAJ
7 p.m., Windsor Court Hotel
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear master storyteller Russ Herman of Herman, Herman, Katz & Cotlar, LLP, New Orleans, at his best. Some of Russ’ stories have become modern legends, and he’s sure to offer both old favorites and new anecdotes that will keep everyone in smiles. Register early for this light-hearted dinner gathering. Space is limited.

CLE conference with Don Keenan of Atlanta

You'll certainly want to reserve space on your calendar for a special CLE program with Don Keenan of Atlanta, Georgia. Keenan is the co-author with David Ball of the wildly popular book Reptile: The 2009 Manual of the Plaintiff's Revolution.

Grand Reception & Silent Auction
7 p.m., Waldorf Astoria Ballroom, The Roosevelt Hotel, 123 Baronne Street
Join elected officials and judges for an evening of fine food, camaraderie and networking. Attendees will also have the opportunity to bid on wonderful gifts, trips, jewelry, art and other special items donated by LAJ members and businesses while listening to music provided by a trio of jazz musicians that includes Victor Atkins, pianist for the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra and Los Hombres Calientes. Cost is $150 per person.

Saturday, March 6
LAJ Board of Governors Meeting
9 a.m., Windsor Court Hotel
Open to LAJ members only. Members are encourged to RSVP for this event.
12:30 p.m., Commander's Palace, 1403 Washington Ave.
Convention ends with a classic Jazz Brunch at Commander’s Palace. Seating is limited for this long-time convention favorite, so be sure to register early. Cost is $75 per person.
