Blake R. David, is a founding partner of Broussard & David, LLC, Lafayette. Martindale-Hubbell AV-rated, he focuses on cases involving personal injury and wrongful death litigation with an emphasis on offshore/maritime, trucking accident, aviation, products liability, industrial accident, and automobile claims.
He is board certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy in civil trial advocacy, is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and is among the Super Lawyers Top 50 Lawyers in Louisiana. Three times VerdictSearch recognized him as lead trial counsel for top 100 jury verdicts in the country.
LAJ’s 2019-20 Maritime Law Section chair, David serves on the Louisiana State Bar Association Nominating Committee. He is a past president of Lafayette Bar Association, American Inn of Court of Acadiana, and Lafayette-Acadiana Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. LSBA honored David as its 2009 Outstanding Young Lawyer of Louisiana.
He is also a member of American Association for Justice, other professional groups, and is on the board for several community, educational, and charitable organizations, including the Lafayette Economic Development Association (commissioner) and First Horizon Bank (Advisory Board).
Gov. John Bel Edwards appointed David to the Louisiana Board of Regents in 2017, and he is its secretary, an Executive Committee member, and Finance Committee chair. Annually, he teaches trial advocacy at the LSU Law Center.
David earned his undergraduate and law degrees from LSU. He and his wife, Amber, reside in Lafayette with their three children.
