Leah Guerry is a graduate of Southern Methodist University Law School and a member of the Texas Bar Association. She has held all offices of the National Association of Trial Lawyer Executives (NATLE), serving as president in 1977 and as a member of the 2010-2011 Executive Committee. In 1989 Guerry was named Outstanding Executive Director in the nation by the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, which is now the American Association for Justice. Leah served on the ATLA Executive Committee in 1997-98 and received its prestigious Partnership Award in 2003.
Guerry has held all offices of the Louisiana Society of Association Executives (LSAE), serving as president in 1981. She is a founding director of the Louisiana Appleseed Center for Law and Justice, a state center that works as part of a national network to perform community service related to administration of law in the public interest.
In November 2007, NATLE presented Guerry with its first Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of “her lifelong dedication to preserving the rights of the injured; tireless efforts on behalf of the citizens of Louisiana and the United States of America …” She is also a recipient of AAJ's 2013 Howard Twiggs Award, which is presented to an AAJ member of at least 10 years standing whose passion, civility, cordiality and professionalsm reflect the high standards set by Howard Twiggs.
