Overhead - noun - costs for rent, heat, electricity, etc., that a business must pay and that are not related to what the business sells. http://www.merriam-webster.com/
Also defined as "a thing I do not like."
It is not the most intellectual of the species that survives; it is not the strongest that survives; but the species that survives is the one that is able to adapt to and to adjust best to the changing environment in which it finds itself……so says Charles Darwin in his “Origin of Species.” Leon C. Megginson, kinda, sorta quoting Charles Darwin.
I primarily represent injured workers throughout Alabama in workers’ compensation cases. The attorney fee in such cases in Alabama is capped at 15%. When you are working for 15% of the lowest payouts in the United States for almost every injury and well-below the national average2, you better learn to stretch a dollar. My law partner and I work hard to keep our overhead down and continually work to run our office more efficiently. We are always on the lookout for a better way to build the mousetrap. This is possible through working smarter, working more efficiently and using technology to our advantage.
