  • Gov. John Bel Edwards extended Louisiana's stay-at-home order through April 30, over two weeks after the original end date of April 13. Read more.
     
  • On March 24, 2020, Pres. Donald Trump approved Gov John Bel Edwards' disaster declaration request, which means more federal funding will be available to help Louisiana battle COVID-19. View details.
  • On March 26, 2020, Gov. John Bel Edwards issued Proclamation No. 37 JBE 2020. The order allows electronic notarial acts with certain conditions and requirements. Read the proclamation for more details. 
     
  • Certain legislative committees previously scheduled for March 31 and April 1 have been cancelled. Check www.legis.la.gov for specific updates. 
  • Court reporters can swear in witnesses over the phone or on video, which means that remote depositions can proceed remotely.
     
  • The governor and other experts held a live state-wide broadcast yesterday that provided several resources for recently unemployed workers, as well as parents, students and seniors who need assistance. View the broadcast.
     
  • The Louisiana Supreme Court issued a new order on March 23 that set forth protective measures that courts in the state of Louisiana must take to slow the spread of COVID-19.
     
  • Oral arguments at the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals scheduled for next week remain cancelled. Oral arguments scheduled for April 27 - 30, 2020, are also  cancelled. Get more information.
     
  • The Louisiana Workforce Commission issued an emergency rule to ensure that injured workers receive proper treatment. This rule requires workers’ compensation insurers to accept an approved LWC-WC 1010 for longer than 30 days, obtain prescription refills much sooner and at a larger supply, and provides for authorization of prescription refills in certain circumstances.
