Dennis Henen
2017-18 President

Dennis Hennen is a member of Hennen & Hennen, LLP in Monroe, Louisiana. For the last 36 years, his law practice has focused on plaintiffs’ personal injury trials.

Hennen served on the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board for six years. A current member of the Louisiana Supreme Court Committee on Rules of Professional Conduct Regarding Class Actions, he also served on the Louisiana Supreme Court Committee on Complex Litigation.

Hennen is a member of the American Association for Justice. He is vice chair of AAJ’s Interstate Trucking Section Committee on Motor Carrier Discovery Abuse and a very active member of the Interstate Trucking Section. He is also active in his local food bank and charities dedicated to helping victims of domestic violence and homelessness.

A past chair of the LAJ Auto Torts and Products Liability sections, Hennen is a 2014 recipient of the LAJ President’s Award. When presenting the award to Hennen, then-LAJ President Daniel Foley described him as a true ambassador for the civil justice system and LAJ. Foley noted that in 1996, Hennen would drive nearly two hundred miles to help oversee the association’s legislative work during that critical session.

Hennen earned his B.S. degree from Northeast Louisiana University in 1978 and his J.D. degree in 1981 from Tulane Law School. He is married to Helen Pierce Hennen. They have two children, Laura and Tyler, who work with him.
