Professionalism: Confessions of an Unprofessional Lawyer

On January 10, 1992, the Louisiana Supreme Court adopted the Code of Professionalism. Join attorney J. Michael Veron as he discusses practical applications of La. S. Ct. Rule XXX, CLE Rule 3 which includes in part: “Professionalism concerns the knowledge and skill of the law faithfully employed in the service of client and public good and entails what is more broadly expected of attorneys. It includes courses on the duties of attorneys to the judicial system, courts, public, clients, and other attorneys; attorney competency; and pro bono obligations.”

J. Michael Veron
J. Michael Veron is the senior partner in the Lake Charles law firm of Veron, Bice, Palermo & Wilson, LLC. He received his B.A. in 1972 and his J.D. in 1974 from Tulane. In law school, he served as an editor on the Tulane Law Review and was elected to membership in The Order of the Coif. After a judicial clerkship, he attended Harvard Law School, where he received the LL.M. in 1976.
